Model Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Earlier, I had discussed what is required to write a Statement of Purpose for college/university admission. Here is another sample personal essay.

I am eager to pursue a Master's in Health Administration and Leadership at Middlesex University in the UK as an aspiring student from Nigeria. The UK has a stellar reputation for its academic prowess and good educational system, which is why I am keen to study there. I am confident that my time spent studying in the UK will provide me a top-notch education and the information and abilities I need to be successful in the field of health administration and leadership.

Middlesex University has a great reputation for turning forth graduates who are highly qualified and knowledgeable and who are prepared to thrive in their areas. I will be able to get priceless knowledge and exposure to diverse healthcare systems, laws, and practices thanks to the university's dedication to provide practical and industry-focused training. I will have the opportunity to learn about a new culture and expand my horizons by studying in the UK. Being exposed to many cultures and thought processes will, in my opinion as a Nigerian, help me develop into a better-rounded person. My capacity to work with and understand individuals from other cultures will be improved by interacting with people from all backgrounds, which is a crucial talent in the field of health administration and leadership.

Numerous Nigerians lack access to high-quality medical care, which presents serious challenges for the country's healthcare system. Nigeria placed 187th out of 191 nations in a 2020 World Health Organization (WHO) poll on the effectiveness of its healthcare system. According to the poll, Nigeria's healthcare system is underfunded, understaffed, and lacking in both infrastructure and healthcare professionals. According to the same report, just 36% of Nigerians have access to basic healthcare services, and many of them cannot afford the high cost of care. As a result, death rates are high, with Nigeria having one of the worst rates of maternal mortality worldwide.

I intend to return to Nigeria after completing my studies in the UK to use the information and abilities I have gained to address the difficulties the healthcare system in my nation is now facing. I am confident that the skills I will acquire from Middlesex University's M.Sc. in Health Administration and Leadership program will allow me to contribute to the development and application of laws and policies that will increase Nigerians' access to high-quality healthcare, lessen healthcare disparities, and improve their general health. I specifically intend to contribute to the advancement of plans and policies that would enhance Nigeria's healthcare system. To do this, stakeholders in healthcare and the government will collaborate to enhance funding for healthcare infrastructure, including hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities. The lack of medical facilities and equipment in Nigeria, which is a significant problem for the healthcare industry, would benefit from this. In addition, I want to help with the formulation of policies that would deal with Nigeria's lack of healthcare professionals. Developing measures to expand the number of healthcare workers in Nigeria, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, would require collaboration between policymakers and healthcare stakeholders. This would aid in addressing Nigeria's severe healthcare personnel shortage, which is a big obstacle.

At Middlesex University, I am keen to pursue a Master's degree in Health Administration and Leadership. My time spent studying in the UK will provide me a top-notch education and priceless experiences that will help me to support the growth of Nigeria's healthcare industry. I intend to go back to Nigeria after finishing my studies to use the information and abilities I have gained to address the difficulties the healthcare industry there is now facing.

IF I KNEW THE ADDRESS OF HAPPINESS

https://www.yourquote.in/adeboye-oluwaseun-c4wwk/quotes/i-knew-address-happiness-my-body-soul-would-sail-me-i-d-sit-cb8z3w

If I knew the address of happiness,

My body and soul would sail with me to its residence

I'd sit on its porch and beckon to it

I'd ask for my share of glee

Never would I leave without a nucleus of happiness in my cells

But I know not where it dwells.

SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR ESL TEACHING INTRODUCTION VIDEO

Since the Covid epidemic began, a lot of job seekers have sought remote jobs. Adverts for different professions are all over the place. When applying for a teaching job, especially a remote one, you might be asked to make a short introduction video. It could seem quite daunting, especially, if you are not acquainted with such. It is not difficult. You do not have to be an orator to achieve this. You are not expected to create a script of 1000 words. The length of the video will depend on the number of words. The video is usually between 2 - 5mins, so 200 - 300 words would do. Remember to smile while shooting the video. Don’t be too serious. You do not need to memorise the script. It is supposed to guide you and streamline your script.

Here are a few tips to guide you in writing the script.

Introduce yourself. You could begin with a greeting, your name, and what you do.

- Talk about your interests. Do not exaggerate or lie to make yourself look good. Your interest could be nature, photography, volunteer work, travel, tutoring etc.

Explain why you love teaching.

What students should expect to get from your class.

- Convince the students or listener to choose you.

Take a look at the example below.

Good day, my name is Sean. I reside in Lagos, Nigeria. I am a graduate of English Education. I teach language arts, and I have been a teacher for over six years. I have experience teaching students in elementary, middle and, high school. I enjoy reading novels and comics. Although I have access to many eBooks, I prefer to get the hard copy, especially the hardcover, which is usually more expensive than the paperback.

As an English Language teacher, I teach grammar, reading and comprehension, spelling and research skills, writing and its mechanics, and speech work. I love teaching because it gives me a chance to see how kids see the world. Through language arts and reading lessons, I can share the knowledge I have with students. Teaching is not tiresome. Every class, every class is different despite the routine. I create a conducive atmosphere where students can relate with me comfortably. I love to hear their feedback and questions, and I go out of my way to address their concerns.

I had an autistic pupil in my class for a year. It gave me great satisfaction to see him comprehend what was taught, interact with his peers and, become less dependent.

I constantly learn from students because learning never stops. Join me on this learning journey. You will be glad to have me as your teacher. Thank you.

Take note of the following:

Remember to shoot the video in a bright environment.

Ensure that the camera is stable.

Your background should not be dull but it should not be so colourful that it distracts the listener from you.

MY KIND OF FAITH

Wavering faith, that's all I got for now

I pray like forever

Do I get an answer?

No, I get almost nothing!

I'm at that point

Where prayer seems not to matter anymore

Because I've prayed about the same thing for years

But I get a one-tenth response

When I complain aloud,

All I hear is, "Have faith

Faith, for how long?

A mustard seed kinda faith is supposed to give me a miracle

My mountain-like faith gets me silence

I'm disappointed repeatedly

And, I'm probably angry

Maybe faith isn't it

Maybe there's something else

Maybe it's the place of grace

Maybe it's all about mercy

If these will fit me,

I want a large dosage

And I need faith as the icing.
